A coffee-shop iced vanilla latte usually means espresso, milk and a pump or two of vanilla syrup. With Brooklyn Halo Velvety Vanilla, you can skip the syrup and the sugar. The creamer brings the creaminess, sweetness and vanilla flavour in one pour, so a café-style iced latte at home takes about two minutes.
You'll need (one large glass)
- A large glass filled with ice
- 120ml cold brew, or 2 shots of espresso cooled for a minute
- 2–3 tablespoons (30–45ml) Brooklyn Halo Velvety Vanilla
- A splash of cold milk (optional, for a milder, longer drink)
Method
- Fill a tall glass with ice. Plenty of ice keeps the drink cold without watering it down too quickly.
- Pour in the coffee. Cold brew gives the smoothest result. If you're using espresso, let it cool for a minute first so it doesn't melt all the ice.
- Add the Velvety Vanilla. Start with 2 tablespoons and stir. Taste, and add another spoonful if you'd like it sweeter and creamier.
- Top up with milk if you like. A splash of cold milk makes a longer, gentler drink. Many people find Brooklyn Halo is all they need.
Make it your own
- Iced caramel latte: swap in Creamy Caramel for a richer, buttery caramel flavour.
- A hint of spice: dust a little ground cinnamon over the top.
- Layered look: pour the creamer in last and don't stir, so it swirls down through the coffee.
Good to know
A 15ml tablespoon of Velvety Vanilla is about 38 kcal, so a two-tablespoon iced latte comes to about 76 kcal before any milk. Once opened, keep the carton in the fridge and use it within 7–10 days.
